Our Research

Our research broadly falls under the umbrella of multiple stressors in benthic marine environments.

Several projects are investigating multiple stressors looking to identify tipping points before they occur and how ecosystems may behave once they are passed. Joanne is key scientist in the ‘Risk and Uncertainty’ project from the Sustainable Seas program, working to understand how such occurrences may impact marine environments in New Zealand.

However, our research is quite diverse, ranging from mangroves to fjords to deep sea ecosystems.
